1st State Meeting - Warning! - Nominee!

Letter to the Editor Published by a Supporter of the Constitution Party

There is another choice. Published in the Daily Standard in Celina, Ohio  May 10, 2008

Saturday's, Readers Write Column article by Sam Dixon  has many of us like minded individuals wondering the same thing about the present political nominees. If this is all that either major party has to offer, America is in serious trouble. The liberal/socialists who are now in charge want to impose their socialist agenda on all of us. See the Democratic Socialists of America's web page to find them. They intend to regulate our freedoms until none exist. After six years of Republicans in charge of the Congress we still have no access to our underground natural gas and oil  reserves. We are dependent on imported fuel and no refineries being built or allowed to be built. I am disgusted with the one party system and discovered that it doesn't have to be a choice between tweedle dee and tweedle dum. There is another political party in America, The Constitution Party which is intent on restoring our Constitutional Authority and will restore our God given freedoms. It can be found on the  web at www.constitutionparty.com if you are disatisfied with the status quo. Discover for yourself that there is a choice that neither of the major parties wants known.

GET THE WORD OUT!  Write a letter to the editor in your local or suburban newspaper.  Show others in your community that there is another choice!  Open a dialog about the importance of following the Constitution in domestic and foriegn affairs.  Educate them about their blessed heritage of liberty and remind that that it is disappearing.  Without mainstream media attention, the Constitution Party relies upon faithful members, dedicated to God, Family and Country, to spread the word via local, grassroots channels.  John Quincy Adams is credited with reminding all Christian Patriots that, "The duty is ours, the results are God's."  Let's do our duty to the Country, spelled out in Leviticus and imprinted on the Liberty Bell to: "Proclaim Liberty throughout the land, unto all inhabitants thereof."

Here is a tool that you will find helpful.  It is a media guide provided by the John Birch Society that allows you to draft and send letters to the editor to up to five newspapers at a time.  There is the option to email as well as form a printed letter.  Make a commitment to draft one letter a week or one letter a month, whatever is more realistic for you.

Thanks for your continued support!

Presidential Nominee!
Congratulations to Chuck Baldwin of Florida on his nomination by the Constitution Party for President of the United States of America!

Chuck Baldwin, with 383.8 delegate votes, beat out 8 other candidates for the nomination. The Vice-Presidential candidate is Darrell Castle from Tennessee who has served as the national committee vice-chairman.

Ohio sent 11 delegates to the convention which was held in Kansas City, Missouri. The party adopted their new platform which made some minor changes to a few planks and added an intro statement and bridge statements to show the constitutional authority for each plank of the platform. Speakers this year included: Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, Dr. Jerome Corsi, author of the Late Great USA, Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America and John F. McMannus, President of the John Birch Society.

Here is an excerpt from Chuck Baldwin's nominating speech regarding his priority as President:

“The loss of our sovereignty, the loss of our national independence is the great battle that is waging in America today. We will not be able to fight the other battles that we desire to fight. We’re not going to have an opportunity to engage the other issues that confront us is we lose this battle. If we lose our freedom our independence our national sovereignty all the other battles go down the tubes simultaneously. This is the battle right now in which we must fight, we have no choice. It is thrust upon us in the same way that it was thrust upon the founders of this country. In the same way that Patrick Henry got up and said that the soldiers are already on the field of battle we have not choice we must rise to the defense of this battle so too the CP has no choice. We must stand in defense of our national sovereignty our independence and the principles upon which this country was formed or we are lost as a country.

The reason I was willing to stand with Congressman Ron Paul because he among all the other candidates in my view saw the most clearly and the most succinctly this battle. He understood the dangers of the United Nations. He understands the dangers of foreign entanglement, as did George Washington. He understands the dangers of allowing ourselves to succumb to the temptation of becoming and empire or a world regime. We are a constitutional republic. We are not a global empire. Every empire of history fell under the weight of trying to sustain that empire. Our founders understood that. That is why they drafted a Constitution which according to Jefferson was to be used as chains. Chains. Not upon us the people, but upon government to allow us to express the freedom and the liberty that God alone has given to us."

First State Meeting
The first state meeting of the Constitution Party of Ohio was a success with approximately 30 people in attendance from all over the state.

In addition to meeting and getting to know each other we conducted an analysis of the new party to identify the internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats that will affect our ability to form the new party in Ohio.

Then we broke into development groups to brainstorm ideas and set goals and strategies for our first year. The executive board is processing all the notes from this session and will be releasing the results next week. Then we will be forming development teams. So be thinking about what areas your would like to take an active role in as you help the party form and grow: Ballot Access & Campaigns, P.R. & Communication, Education, Issues & Activism, Membership & Leadership, and Fundraising.

New Information on the
meetup site:
(if you have not yet joined our meetup, please plan to do so as this is where communication regarding development will take place):

1. Ballot Access Summary (files section)
2. Pictures from the first state meeting (photos section)
3. Ohio Bylaws (files section)

We are off and running!

Former Reagan aide warns our freedom slipping away
Chad Groening - OneNewsNow - 4/16/2008

Marc Nuttle, a former Reagan aide and national campaign strategist, says the U.S. is reaching a point where as more people are becoming dependent on the government for their support, the more the government is controlling their lives.

Nuttle -- author of the book Moment of Truth: How the Government's Addiction to Spending and Power Will Destroy Everything That Makes America Great --strongly urges all Americans to reject any suggestions from today's politicians, professors, and pundits that individuals can sacrifice their freedoms to government control and still remain free.

According to Nuttle, 35 percent of the population derives its direct economic benefit from the government. That percentage includes teachers, government bureaucrats, and the military, but does not include welfare and retirement recipients.

"As ... Baby Boomers start to retire, we're going to be close to 50 percent of the public deriving their economic benefit directly from the government," he warns. "When that happens, then the government is there to manage your life more than it is for you to direct the government to help you to pursue happiness and opportunity as you see fit.

"However, Nuttle says he does not advocate the libertarian way of doing things. "Government is like food. It's critical, you need it ...," says Nuttle. "But too much food can cause obesity diabetes, and heart disease and you have to control it, and you have to manage it ...." Nuttle says his new book discusses these very issues.
